Scorned Lovers and Moral Codes

It happened in some foreign country. She had had her suspicions that he was cheating and had done her little homework such that she was able to catch him on a romantic date with another lady. She was enraged and proceeded to retrieve the clothes she had gifted him…right there on the streets. His protests and appeals for her to rethink her move were ignored; she wanted to humiliate him as he did her by sharing what should have been exclusive to them with another. It was mission accomplished in the end—she had paid him back in the most debasing way

The One Mistake You Never Want To Make

One of my favourite channels on cable TV is the Investigation Discovery Channel. I am intrigued by the “Why” of crime. Why people commit a crime. Why they choose to hurt friends, family, loved ones in general – people they once swore to protect with their all through one inexplicable act. Why a woman would kill a man she claims to love after having an affair with his best friend. Why a son would orchestrate the murder of a father who gave his all to see him become someone in life. I am captivated by mystery, I fascinated by thrillers, I am curious about anything that has other layers to it. Perhaps, if I wasn’t a writer, I would have been a detective or psychologist.

This Need For Control

I was having a conversation with some friends when the topic drifted to the issue of cheating. It was no surprise; just recently the news got out that another celebrity marriage had hit the rocks. Before this revelation, cheating had been a hot topic. Famous comedian, Kevin Hart had been enmeshed in a cheating scandal, and social media had gone wild with the news and how men, (in particular), could hardly be faithful in relationships. One of my friends had expressed her concern about the spate of cheating, especially among married couples and had asked me what my thoughts were on the disturbing trend.
